Resident Physician is a course designed to introduce general medical practices including internship skills, pediatric emergencies, crisis team management and communication, airway management and English language skills through interactive learning and high technology human patient simulators.

SWIM is designed for healthcare professionals and educators engaged in healthcare education. Participants should be aware of healthcare education methods and adult learning concepts. Participants will be re-introduced to basic concepts, and advanced discussion and experience of simulation based education.

SWIM – Facilitation is designed for healthcare professionals and educators engaged in healthcare education. Participants should be aware of healthcare education methods and adult learning concepts. Participants will be introduced to basic concepts of simulation based education, and will focus on facilitation techniques. Facilitation is a complex set of skills in which the facilitator guides and supports the learner(s) to meet learning objectives. Facilitation includes techniques such as using appropriate cues, redirection, pause and reflect during a simulated patient encounter or series of encounters. The focus of this course is to provide participants with the latest methods of facilitation and bedside, hands on exercises to practice their skills in real time.

SimPLE is designed to introduce general medical practices including internship concepts, pediatric emergencies, crisis team management and communication, airway management and English language skills through interactive learning and high fidelity human patient simulators.

Nursing Education Faculty Workshop is designed to advance nursing faculty knowledge and skills in the use of simulation based education methods. Interactive learning sessions to model teaching methods are conducted with manikin scenarios to develop instructor competency.
